[su_dropcap]A[/su_dropcap]lia Bhatt wants to do an out-and-out romantic song with Salman Khan! Bollywood popular actress Alia Bhatt has signed a movie with Shah Rukh Khan. It’s something each B-Town actress desires to do, whether she confess it or not. Alia Bhatt is lucky that she has gotten the opportunity to do so, early in her profession. Alia Bhatt wants to do an out-and-out romantic song with Salman Khan! Many Bollywood actresses, who have been here longer than the Bhatt girl — Kangana Ranaut, Parineeti Chopra, Sonam Kapoor — have not shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan. Here, Alia Bhatt talks about all things Khan…
You will be sharing the screen space with SRK. What’s your initial memory with him?
I met him first when father took me to his home when a couple of different relatives had come from Pakistan and they desired to meet Shah Rukh Khan. I remember he was very warm, talkative, charming gave us lots of Coca-Cola and sandwiches to drink. I must have eaten some fifteen sandwiches just sitting and staring at him. What I really gathered from that meeting is that he is a people’s person and he makes you feel extremely special. That is one quality I really like. As a fellow performer, I admire the way he is with his fans — so much love and warmth — that is commendable. His personality is magic!
Your favourite Shah Rukh films?
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, I love Darr, DDLJ, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Chak De! India.
Most senior Bollywood actresses today are doing movies with younger heroes, you are reversing the trend.
I carve my own path, I do not follow trends, or have a herd attitude. One should never do that. How boring! I am very selective. I do not want to burn out or do a movie just for the sake of doing it. I will sit at house for 6 months and not do a movie if I have not got one that I want to do. The tale is king. That’s all that issues. Let’s make the tale the center of concentration and we will take it from there. Nothing however the script/story is important.
Do you see yourself acting with Hrithik, Salman, Akshay, Aamir?
Why not? I want to do an out-and-out romantic song with superstar Salman Khan — the more romantic the better!
Do not you look at it as a hindrance that you cannot romance Salman, SRK, Hrithik, Aamir, Akshay?
No. I am ok with scripts that do not have me romancing them. The idea is not do a romantic movie but do a movie and play a role and be a part of a world that exists on the screen which you create come to life with yourself. So it is not about romance, however about doing a good movie.
